In this episode, with lot of laughter and a smattering of the f-word :-) , we discuss the process of going within to consult with the spirits for healing ... and the layers of reality within us.

Wise Women: The Vicar and the Witch. Episode 17: On Wanting Enough

We talk about living the simple life ... and as both of us tend to do that (and can do so because we are blessed to live on Dartmoor), there's some speculation as to why most of us don't or can't. The consensual reality of the West appears to be 'get more, do more, buy or do THIS — and tell everyone what we've done and what we've got.' But does it actually help?
Includes some of Maggy's stories of travelling in China in the early 1980s (in fact, a lot of Maggy's stories of China because Maggy simply wouldn't shut up about China...)

This time, we do manage a bit about the solstice (which was just SO last week...) and how we are one part of a many-faceted reality. In this liminal time, we also look at the power of ENOUGH, and how humanity is mired in the commandment about 'covetousness' which is the end-point of breaking all the other commandments. So we take a look at the Law in the Judaeo-Christian traditions, especially the mystical interpretation of the Ten Commandments.

.... but isn't.
We meander from the turning of the year (maiden to crone) through the topic of abortion and its effect on the soul, to healing and into privilege. Basically, it's two middle-aged white women finding that the language we know how to use makes us terminally inarticulate about the "othering" that is currently being exposed in the world.
Quite a bit about righteous anger too...
We also repeat the part about the ash tree because we had to move from the garden to sitting under the garage doors because of the rain and forgot where we were. But it's a bit worth repeating. :-)
Oh, and a lot of use of the f-word in this one too.

Maggy tells more about her life as a Christian mystic. And we continue the discussion on spells, including the 'spell' that matter and spirit could possibly be separated. Also, the work of Devon healer, John Wadlow, who helps people remove the enthralment of negative spells that affect their health. John's book can be found here.

Have you ever thought about the reason why it's called 'spelling' when we write out words? No **** Sherlock! Words are spells. As Suzi says, 'Words create the track down which the reality train travels.'
We examine the weave of our thoughts, words, actions and ancestral stories and how responsible we may be for how our lives turn out.

Friday May 29, 2020
We look at the importance of holy anger rather than retributive anger, at the cracking of the millennia-old patriarchy and the power of tough love and forgiveness.
Maggy's on a bit of a rant today! She is focusing on the work of Caroline Myss after watching this online free workshop.

Friday May 22, 2020
Following on from our discussion about the origins of Biblical tithing, we talk of the degree of separation between the human race and the rest of the World and what may help to assist reunion. If anything is sacred, then surely everything is...

The one where Suzi asks Maggy why she's still a Christian when she seems (relatively) sane and connected :-)
